Allen Lake
Allen Lake is on the north side of Scenic 30A in the middle of the Dune Allen Beach community. Stinky’s Fish Camp sits on the western edge with lakeside dining and a large dock for recreation. There is a flow to the gulf underneath the road and out to the gulf. Lake Allen is approximately 20 acres in size. There is no public access point.
Allen Lake is one of the few coastal dune lakes that doesn’t have an outfall so doesn’t open periodically to the Gulf and exchange waters, although it likely did at some point in the past.
It may have been cutoff from the Gulf by dunes that built up over time. Now it is cut off by Scenic 30A which runs between the lake and the Gulf. Unlike Oyster Lake just to the east, the county has not created or maintained a culvert underneath the road to allow for an outfall.

Campbell Lake is inside Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and closest to the park entrance and campground.
Morris Lake
Morris Lake is inside 1,640 acre Topsail Hill Preserve State Park and is not accessable to the public for boating, only to be visited by special tours by park personnel or intrepid hikers in the park….
