Hope everyone’s doing alright. How are things looking around you? Any places with electricity or signal? Any place back open for coffee or a bite to eat?

Another lucky near miss for SoWal.

Shades is open and packed yesterday. Publix has been open. Had to go to PCB for gas.

Very little structural damage. Lots of trees down and limbs. Power out, beach boardwalks lost seems like the biggest deal and Dune erosion.

Hi Peik. Doing well thanks.

Thanks for checking in!
I still don't have power and just got cell service.

I'm glad everyone is OK and I'm ready to come back home.

Most of the damage is beach related. Rosemary for instance lost probably half of their boardwalks/stair access points. Seacrest too. Watersound Beach Club walkover gone. Seaside too lost a bunch. These should be easy, couple weeks of work to repair, but the environmental nut jobs and bureaucratic process means it’ll probably be 6-8 months before all that is back to normal.

A lot of cleanup but thankful.

Walkover repairs have already started. First the cleanup. I'm a good neighbor. One you would likely call an environmental nut job. I care about clean beaches, air and water, parks and land, wildlife and trees. I am proud of it.

Except for some walkovers and some other beach repairs everything will be back to normal by the end of the week. For most 8n just a couple of days.
Debris cleanup in our neighborhoods will take awhile.

Does anyone happen to know the post-storm status of a few beach accesses? Specifically:
1) One Seagrove Place neighborhood access
2) The new Seagrove Beach Regional Access
3) The Pelayo Neighborhood Beach Access
I've checked the tourism sites and as of this morning, there is no information on these, or on any of the neighborhood accesses. FYI, this site has the most info so far on regional accesses, but I'm looking to fill in the gaps with any eyes-on info. I'm surprised the new seagrove regional access wasn't mentioned:

Hello SoWal people - as of now, a Mobile area landfall would bring us plenty of wind, rain, and heavy surf to South Walton. The next 24 hours will tell us much more about the strength and direction. Walton County Emergency Management has lots of good info about preparations and plans for storm...
