Kurt, I just realized that you did the virtual tour for the townhome we are renting late this summer. I am impressed! I looked through literally hundreds of rentals and quite a few used your company for virtual tours. The picture quality is always excellent.
We've booked Seagrove Dunes #3 with Susan Lennox (who was very nice!). What do you think of that area? Any advice or comments would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Those units are in the middle of it all. Not crowded though, and very nice. Enjoy your million dollar+ vacation!

Thanks Kurt! We are dragging some family along to split the cost with us, so it works out really well. All that's left is the waiting!

Kurt...I have to say that your virtual tours are awesome! My family and I come to Seagrove 2 to 3 times a year, and I love looking at the inside of properties. I feel like I know every property along all of 30A, inside and out! The only problem is half the time I find a property I love, we can't afford it! BUT...maybe someday! We will be staying at the Dunes of Seagrove at the end of April. We've never stayed there before so hopefully we won't be disappointed. Thanks again for your great pics!

That means that half the time, you can afford it, so why not just buy one?

Beach Girl, you'll have to let me know how you enjoyed the Dunes, when you get back. I am having major withdrawals.
We go on vacation in late August, because rates are so much cheaper. The August rate for the Dune rental we secured is almost half of what their summer rate is. Of course, most of the businesses are closed for the season, but it's worth it to us to skip the crowds and save so much money in the process. It helps that we homeschool and don't have to work around kid schedules though.
But heck, if you go three+ times a year, maybe it would be more economical to buy something in the area.

I think you have received and are giving out incorrect information.

I've got to agree with SJ. We go down in October every year & haven't had a problem with businesses being closed.

I agree that the businesses are open in August. I don't know of any that close, but of course there may be a few that I'm not aware of. We've come to 30A the last two summers in August and all the businesses -- restaurants/activities/stores -- seem open. The benefit is that they get our business so they can stay in business and we get great food/fun/stuff without crowds or waiting in line. Our family vacation in August is our favorite time of the year to be on 30A and our favorite time to venture out and go shopping/eat out/go to Big Kahunas and other activities. (I know some people on this list don't favor Big Kahuna's and other commercial waterparks because they can be tacky, but we enjoy them and we even add a trip to Krispy Creme donuts as part of our trip to Big Kahunas -- followed by lunch at the Back Porch -- or is it Front Porch -- restaurant in Destin.) Our kids love the day we do this (fortunately, they also like just hanging out at the beach/pool on all the other days we're there).

Hehe...yes maybe we should buy something.
Trust me, we think about it ALL the time. The thing is, we always come "the cheap week" in August and always try come for a week in the winter. Then, we try to come in the Spring if we are able to. We share a house/condo with our family during the winter and summer trip....so it is MUCH cheaper! Hmmm....any beachfront properties going for $200,000?
YEAH RIGHT!!!! Plus, these days I'm a Stay at Home Mom so I'm not sure if the budget will allow!!!!
I live in Illinois so we have a 12 hour drive. Now that we have a 1 year old, the drive is a little longer. I'll let you know how the Dunes are. Hopefully, they will be as nice as the picture.

You should find plenty of Gulf front rentals for under $200,000 per week, esp. in August.

Sorry to misinform on the closed businesses. I say that because last time we were in PCB in August, we drove around on the main strip for an hour looking for an open restaurant, and finally asked a policeman about all of the closed businesses, and he explained that most of the eating establishments in the area had closed for the season. We finally found a fast food chain that was open. Perhaps we weren't looking in the right place.
