I started this on another thread, but here we go again. We are on a mission to get The Conch Out (Grayton...see Kirt's virtual tour) repainted this year. At this point, will probably be early fall because the house is pretty well booked. If you know Conch Out, you realize this will be a task on a global scale and we want it to look right in its environs. So we are open to suggestions as to a suitable color scheme. The top contender at the moment is a seafoam green with a hint of khaki, dark green for the French doors, white trim, and a somewhat darker stain for all the decking. Someone suggested a color scheme that looked like the inside of a conch shell, set off with coral blush French doors and white trim...but, er... we thought that was a little too suggestive

As I said, we are open to suggestion. Just to make it interesting, we are offering a world class dinner for eight with a full compliment of Napa Valley's finest wines, provided by us at The Conch Out, to the party with the winning suggestion. (Upped the ante from the previous post, as penance for straying from that thread.) :welcome:

Cure the wine issue or the height issue? Maybe I need the wine to get over the height issue? Ask gttbm...I prefer a Planter's Punch!!! Slurping good...especially the orange slice at the end!

It may sound strange, but SmilingJOe is not the only one afflicted that way! Merman is a private pilot--no trouble at all flying thousands of feet above sea level, but he's afraid of heights. Go figure. :clap_1:

I too am afraid of heights - but have jumped out of planes. A psychologist explained it to me that 20 feet up - you can see where you are going to land - jumping out of the plane is so high - it seems surreal. Just beautiful - not scary. My husband is always amused by this - "So you will jump out of an airplane but you don't want to come up the ladder to hand me something." :floor: He has no fear of heights at all. Maybe I will volunteer him to paint the top floor. - Nah we have too much of our own painting to do when we are on vacation down there.

I may not will the color selection contest, but perhaps you will need a test subject to ensure that the food and wine is not poisoned? :idontno:
SJ, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna win this thing, so you can consider yourself invited when I do. ;-)

I am taking this very seriously because I, like TooFarTampa, am a paint junkie. The food and wine are merely icing on the cake to me. I have created three distinct paint pallates, taking into account body of house, trim and window, door, and porch chairs.

Donna, if you PM me your address, I will send you my story boards.

So will this paint job be a "sponser this house" type of thing? If so, I may accept bids for my own house. Any takers?:idontno:

:lolabove: You all are cracking me up! I may have to enter this darn thing. I would surely take SoFunn friends because my kids wouldn't appreciate the fine menu that Donna would be offering. Well, unless she adds chicken nuggets and fries to it. :rolling:

Or palette, dear Kurt. Your version is correct if we're talking about moving around a large quantity of paint cans with a forklift...

I have so many colors going I think Donna might actually need a palett to move my palette. We're talking trim colors, accent colors, body colors, door colors, ceiling colors...don't have a heart attack, Donna; some of the colors do double duty! Now get me that palatt, no palete, no palatte, oh I give up. :funn:

Well, even if a pallet is required to deliver all of the paint in your (allegedly) winning palette, you will have a meal that pleases your palate!
SNAP!
