The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) is bringing in the New Year with a fresh calendar of Spring Eco-Adventures showcasing Walton County’s natural resources through nature-based tours – Discover Roads Less Traveled: Eco-Adventures of Walton County.
Led by local experts and professional naturalists, the program offers visitors and local residents opportunities to explore, discover and experience the diverse natural resources that make Walton County unique. Descriptions of the tours being offered are available online at www.basinalliance.org by clicking the “Eco-Tours” link or tab. Registration is available by phone at 850-200-4160, or walk-in to the South Walton Campus of Northwest Florida State College. Prices vary – starting at $15.
The schedule provides a broad range of activities for the spring season in Florida. Hike around the wet prairies of local state parks; paddle a rare coastal dune lake and have lunch at the famous Red Bar; enjoy a paddle at Morrison Springs or take a tour along the Choctawhatchee River –two commonly overlooked natural gems of Walton County. Additionally, CBA will continue to offer the popular historical tour of the Coffeen Nature Preserve.
